Current Music: I've got Andrew W.K. stuck in my head right now
Today's Random Fact: Want to cut back on your gas bill? Just burn Purell in your bathtub! It’ll heat the bathroom in a few seconds and the tub will be nice and toasty!
So, what have I been up to... Well, Friday I can't remember, but I don't think I did very much after work. I woke up Saturday and kinda lounged for a while. I cleaned up a bit, watched the OSU game (we won), and avoided homework. Let's see, then I went to my Grandma's house for dinner (liver, yuck) then took Tyler over to my place and we watched Ghostbusters. I dropped him off and went out with RedHot at a pretty nice dive bar in Parma. The beer was really cheap! Eric slept over and I passed out late. Sunday I woke up fairly early considering how late I was up and I went over and watched the Browns game at Eric's. (They lost)
Time for a Collin Quote Break! A Collin Quote Break is a selection of Collin's best away messages. Today's are related to the Browns.
"I may be pissed about losing to Cincinnati, but don't think for one minute that I care any less about beating Pittsburgh."
"What would you rather have, Tim Couch or cancer?"
During halftime Eric and I got in a pistol battle with his air-soft guns. It was a blast. Kitt wrestled with Gonzo the whole time, so I had to give her a bath when we got home. I cleaned a little more, then went over my other Grandma's for Nick's Birthday (again). While there I ate some Linguine in Clam Sauce. I had to leave the table for something, and when I did Eric added a ton of Cayenne pepper. It was so hot, but kinda good! I needed to eat bread with it and drink and lot of milk, but it was pretty good! When we left, Eric and I got coffee from his girlfriend's work and then I took him home. I should've done homework all night, but I procrastinated and cleaned all three of my closets and did laundry. I finally sat down and did some, but then I was tired so I went to bed.
And now I'm at work writing an Update.
Couple things that have been bothering me lately:
- The shuttle bus at work. Remember my gripe about the elevator in the parking garage at the hospital where I used to work? Well, we have this shuttle to take people from this hospital to the parking lot. It's meant for everyone, but when able bodied people use it on a nice day it pisses me off. Especially over-weight people. I mean, come on, if you're fat, take a walk! It's not that far and during the day it's totally safe. That's pretty much my main beef. Lazy fat people. I would love to just yell at them "YOUR ASS ISN'T GETTING ANY SMALLER, SO GET MOVING!"
- People who never smile. Come on, is your life that damn bad? Unless you're on fire or someone you know just died a horrible death, lighten the F up. Everyone has a bad day, but to constantly be in a bad or stressed out mood just signifies a dysfunction on your part. Seriously. Chill out.
- Cheap shoes. I want to go to a shoe store and have someone measure my foot, then go find me a pair of shoes that fit perfectly and won't wear out in two months. That would really make me happy.
- As would a larger TV. I'm talking 32" at the very least.
Hey, have you checked out my DVD list recently? I changed it over to a .txt format that way everyone can read it. I guess there were problems with some people who don't have Word. Sorry. Anywho, it grows by the day. I really think I'm addicted. If I walk into a store with money in my pocket I'll buy anything on DVD that I've even remotely heard of. Time Bandits? Yep, I think I watched that on TV years ago and it scared the shit out of me because of all the midgets that are in it. Saw it at Target the other day and guess what? I bought it. Stupid, Stupid, STUPID! Ah well, I'll still watch it and there's no way I'm getting rid of it. The collection must grow!
That’s enough for now, its time to eat. More linguine in clam sauce with extra cayenne pepper! Later, -T-
Nice things about my job:
- I get a lot of experience in the field
- I goof off on the internet a lot
- I drink a lot of free coke and ginger ale
- Two words: Lorna Doones
- Oh yeah, and I get paid to sit on my ass the last couple hours of the shift and watch TV.
So you want a WEEKEND UPDATE?!? Well, Collin said it best:
General Kelly Elway: Commander of the U.S.S. Cleveland
Current Music: SportsCenter is on ESPN
Today’s Random Fact: The best place for you to buy and sell textbooks is www.half.com You need to use that site. Tell everyone you know. Do it. Do it now! The more people who use it the better!
The Browns won, I saw Once Upon a Time in Mexico with Jason, I cooked, I cleaned, I bathed the dog, and I burned my finger. Lyndz is insanely busy, so I haven’t talked to her in days. It’s 5am and I’m still awake. I have a huge exam on Tuesday. Am I worried about any of this? Nah. The Browns won. Later, -T-
Current Music: "The Top Five Album Covers" on VH1 is on in the background.
Today’s Random Fact: Pool is expensive.
So, what’s up? If there was every a time for an update, it’s now, so sit down and prepare to be updated!
I got up really late yesterday and cleaned a bit, but basically wasted time. Finally got dressed and played with the pup a bit, then got ready to go out with my Grandma for her Grand Jury Reunion dinner. I got to network with a guy who knows the dean of a medical school (go me), and also a 25 year-old marketing executive (go me!). Who cares if she was hot (Oh, she was), it was good to meet new people (and flirt!)
So after the dinner (and flirting) I was totally in the mood to go out (and flirt more!) Jason is still in town, so I went to his house and we decided to go bar hopping.
And I totally just spent the last the last 45 minutes on the couch. DAMN alcohol makes you lazy!
So, I’m back to the updating. First we went to Cleats. They were having a "Halfway to St. Patrick’s day party." They were also having 13 year-olds party there. It was very very odd. I had a Killian’s to celebrate, then we got the hell out of there. Oh, Jason had a double of Wild Turkey. (If you’re keeping score at home, it’s Jason 2, Todd 1)
Next it was ANGIE’S PIZZA! We didn’t even bother having a drink here, it smelled like open ass. The sad thing is it smelled like that when I worked there back in the day. Ah memories… We quickly left there as well. (Still Jason 2 – Todd 1)
Quick, to the next bar! Jimmy J’s! Jason got another double of Wild Turkey, I got a Bud Light. The band there was okay, but the ladies were lacking. Finished the beer and moved on to the next one. (Ah, Jason 4 – Todd 2!)
THE FOX AND THE HOUND! When we got here I wanted a nice beer, entertainment, and ladies. Well, we hopped right to it. Jason got a double shot, I got a beer, and we grabbed a pool table. The ladies part never really happened. I mean, we tried, we called three ladies, we even tried to impress the ones near us with our pool skills. Sadly, none of these things worked. Ah well, we had the game and the drinks, we were still happy.
(Updated score = Jason 6 – Todd 3)
Soon, nothing else mattered. Jason had an Irish car bomb and I finished my beer. (Jason 8 – Todd 3)
Jason had another Irish car bomb and a Rolling Rock, I had another beer. (Jason 11 – Todd 4)
We kept playing pool, it was so great. Oh, we also had nachos. Jason had ANOTHER Irish car bomb, I had a Red Bull. (It killed my buzz, hooray for caffeine! That counts as one negative drink for me). After hearing from Angela we ended up taking off. (FINAL SCORE = Jason 13 – Todd 3)
When we got back to Jason’s place we were both feeling very nice, Jason a little more so then me. He called Gina and we laughed our asses off in his driveway for over an hour. All in all it was a very fun night. I think I sent out about a dozen text messages and left half a dozen messages on people’s voice mail. (Sorry Ash) Still, I had a blast. I think Jason might be a little sick in the morning! 13!
And now I’m home. My neighbor’s air-conditioning unit is making a really loud knocking noise. I tried to go outside and kill it, but short of smashing it with a hammer, I can’t figure out how to make it stop. I cut the power and everything. It kind of reminds me of the time I was a counselor at that camp with Jeff and the possessed heater we had wouldn’t shut off. We cut off the gas and the electricity to it and it still wouldn’t stop. Freaky shit. Well, now with my neighbor’s thing it’s not freaky, it’s just loud and annoying. Who the hell runs the AC when it’s 50 degrees outside anyway?
I looked hot today. I know that was random, but wait till you see the pictures, because I totally did.
Okay, enough for now. It’s 5am and if I’m going to stay up all night I really should get some shit done. Like study for an exam I have this week. HA! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Maybe I will do dishes though, those really need to get done. Ah well. More tonight. Later, -T-
I wrote a bit whilest I was gone, so you can read that for now. I brand-spankin'-new UPDATE will be posted tomorrow after I get a bit of sleep. -T-
Not only are my allergies in full swing, but I still don’t have Internet access! Oh man, I wish there was some way I could UPDATE!!!
Current Music: Um?
Today’s Random Fact: If you have Verizon Wireless you can update the connectivity software by pressing *228 then send. Do this monthly for better reception.
(Note to self: It is early morning, Sunday August 31, 2003. Gotta keep track of these things…)
I just finished watching the last episode of my SportsNight DVD set. They canceled that show after two seasons, and I think that was a good decision. A couple minutes ago I was pining to Lyndz about how they should’ve kept it on longer, but it ended perfectly, right at it’s peak. I wouldn’t have minded a few more episodes in the slightest, but the ones they did make were perfect. I have never watched a better television show in my life. Yes, I do love The Shield, 24 is pretty good too, and ER is a staple for Thursday night taping (I need to get TIVO), but SportsNight is clearly the best. I was very sad to remove the last DVD from my player. Have no fear though, in a couple weeks I might just have to start all over from the beginning and watch them all over again. I might just be that type of crazy.
Speaking of crazy, I haven’t updated in forever. No, I did not get bored with the whole Blogging thing, and no I did not block anyone from my AIM buddy list. Two things led to my abrupt absence from the "magical thing we call the Internet". Number one: I was getting addicted. I’ve always been a bit of a dork when it came to Internet access, what with having DSL and all, but I started to sink into that ‘Losing sleep’ phase of Internet addiction. I didn’t think I could quit cold turkey, so I tried weaning myself off. That worked about as well as gasoline does putting out fires. Finally, I decided to do what I do best when it comes to solving problems. I procrastinated. And that my friends, brings me to the second reason: with the procrastination of dealing with my addiction I also decided not to pay for the DSL service any longer. Eventually SBC just shut down my DSL! See, problem solved!
Now I’m started to miss it. Badly. StrongBad has started writing e-mails again, my friends are back at school and therefor back online, and man do I need to update! So, next paycheck I’m going to pay my rather large phone bill and reconnect the DSL. As Ozzy might say "Momma, I’m coming home!"
So, that’s that. Now, what else is going on in my life? Well, thanks for asking! Lyndz went back to school last week, but before that we took our annual trip to Port Clinton and had a wonderful time. Tradition can be really nice, and this trip was no exception. It’s funny how doing the exact same thing once a year can feel really special each time you do it. Kind of like Christmas, except without the drunk and lunatic relatives to ruin it. The morning Lyndz left I DJ-ed my Uncle’s wedding. I also almost got arrested at Dover Lake. They really needed to lighten up, I didn’t kill anyone…
Work has slowly gotten better, but I think that’d because my attitude has changed. I go in full of energy, and when I’m tired, I use caffeine! I know it’s not healthy, but it needs to be done. Trust me, a couple Cokes work better then the Prozac. (But they work even better together!) Anywho, I stay upbeat and it helps the day go by. School has also begun and already feels different. Well, for one thing I’m actually going to classes, and that has failed to impress no one, especially me. I’m going to finish, and I’m going to do well. I’m sick of getting discouraged, it doesn’t help anyone. I still hate Tri-C, but I’m getting this over with. I’m even taking a very early morning class that involves me driving through rush-hour traffic twice a week. That is dedication.
So the weathers been kinda wacky, but when is it not? All summer it was cold and wet, then it got hot and wet. Now it’s cool and dry. What the fuck happened to hot and dry?!? I have not gotten quality pool time in this year and I am very disappointed. I was really hoping to lay out and vegetate for a while over the holiday weekend (It’s the Labor Day weekend, in case you missed that) but I don’t think that’s going to happen. That blows.
And… sleep.
Next Day: 09/01/03
Aw shit, the rent is due today. I’d can’t forget to do that. Well, technically I have another 23 some-odd hours, so I think I’m cool.
Today’s Random Fact: Oops, wrong order. Hang on.
Current Music: Half-Baked is on in the background. I watched The Boondock Saints with Eric and Christina previous to this.
Today’s Random Fact (in the right spot this time): "The MacGiver smoker is a very handy guy to have around"
So, what’d you do today? I spent most of the day on drugs. Yes, that’s right, I do drugs. Today I was heavy into Pseudophedrine HCL. (Look it up) It made me sleepy; so I napped whilest listening to the baseball game. After I woke up I walked the dog, brushed her out really well, flirted with the neighbor, and then cleaned. Eric and Christina came over and we went to B-dubs. After that it was time to hit GE, then back here for movies. Not a bad Sunday. Nick and Ty spent the day with my dad at the air show, so I’ll go visit them tomorrow.
Oh, the IRS finally sent me the paperwork I sent for! It only took five weeks! 7-10 days my ass…
Hey, I forgot to update this yesterday. The weekend before she left, Lyndz and I went to the Feast of the Assumption downtown. It rained and we got lost in East Cleveland (or as I like to call it: hell) The food was good though, and I only lost a few bucks playing Over/Under. After the feast we couldn’t decide if we wanted to go to the Tori Amos concert (I was indifferent). We instead went home and rented the two Left Behind movies. Kirk Cameron should’ve stopped at Growing Pains. Sunday we went to church, a party with people from work, and then back to her house for dinner with her family. From there it was drive-in movie time! We saw SWAT, American Wedding, and the second half of Pirates of the Caribbean. We made up the hatch-back into our bed-type set up and stayed comfy throughout the entire thing. Lyndz stayed in back while I drove her home, it was really fun.
And that’s the rest of the story! (Sorry Paul Harvey)
Randoms:
o Burger King (More specifically whoppers) and Applebee’s (The Appetizer Platter thing) makes for horrible breakfasts.
o Freshly painted street lines make me happy
o Have you ever seen the sign at the Post Office that says: "No pets except for those assisting blind people"? Those signs piss me off. Do they really need to specify? Would a blind person see the sign and turn away if it wasn’t specified? NO! They can’t see it! Stupid political correctness…
o I keep getting e-mails on my cell phone, but they’re spam! Something about a mortgage. I don’t think I need a mortgage, but if I ever feel like selling my apartment I’ll give them a holler.
o Sometime over the summer Lyndz and I went out for Chinese food. I was eating chicken lo-mein and got a really long noodle. Lyndz made fun of it and sang "It’s the never-ending noodle…" It was a perfect Homestar moment. I was so proud.
o I brushed the dog again today and got so much hair out of her coat. She must be shedding out her summer coat or something because there was a ton.
o Quote from work:
Nurse: "Todd, do you make all your own food?"
Me: "Of course I do, who else is going to make it, the dog? I've tried her food and it sucks!"
o And finally, you know you’re in Cleveland when you see an old black guy walking around in a old ratty green T-shirt with a gray shirt pocket sewed on the front.

Current Music: BROWNS GAME!!!
Today’s Random Fact: Five miles is a nice walk with the dog.
Yep, so after trying to watch the Brown’s game with awful reception, I called Adelphia and set up an appointment to get Digital cable and Internet. Starting next week I’ll be back online and watching cable for the first time in my apartment!
Yeah so yesterday! Long story short: I got up, took a really long walk to my mom’s house. Mapped it out the night before and it came out to about 4 and a half miles. It was a really easy walk, great exercise. When I got there I cut the grass and some trees, and helped look for Uncle Mike’s lost wedding ring. Then I came home. Jason came over and we went back to the house for some pizza, then over to Jayne Konicki’s.
At Jayne’s, there were a lot of little people Kelly’s age. I started drinking. This girl named Kate came. I was flirtatious and Jason and I started a monster fire with some Coleman Fuel. Also, I kept drinking. Fire was really huge, kept drinking. Kate flashed us with her pierced nipples and I drank heavily. Rachel came and Kate left. We kept talking about sex and drinking. Rachel ended up on my lap stroking my hair telling me how soft it is whilest trying to keep my mind off Jason’s talk about diaper fetishes. We went inside the house and just talked for a while, then went back outside with our clothes disheveled on purpose. Either no one noticed, or they didn’t say anything. Afterwards she was on my lap again (Jason was talking about diaper fetishes again) but then she fell asleep. By the end of the night I ended up pretty proud of Corey. It was really odd, I had a great time.
