A couple more sleep-deprived random UPDATES:
I want to go to this conference, so if anyone needs a Christmas gift idea don't say I didn't give you any ideas early. I got really sick at work today, my hands were shaking mad style. My blood sugar dropped down to 56. A snickers bar and some OJ brought it all the way up to 65. Terrific. I've felt like crap ever since. I think this whole "not sleeping" thing is starting to catch up to me. Awesome bumper sticker sighting: God created whiskey to prevent the Irish from taking over the world I was talking to a doc at work about a seminar he was giving. It was scheduled for 7am and I told him he wasn't going to be able to make it. He said "since you work till midnight every night hopefully you'll still be sleeping at 7am." I laughed, but on the inside I was crying. (If you haven't been paying attention, I get up at 5:30am for class and the earliest I can get to sleep at night is 1:30am. Four hours a night, and that's the maximum. God forbid I have to stop and get gas or eat dinner or something.) I seriously miss my bed. I dream about it when I fall asleep on my feet at work. Being exhausted at work has taught me a few things though. For example, it's very important not to yawn while carrying an open container of bodily fluids (for example: blood collected from a patient's wound drain.) Yeah, bad idea, don't do that. I got a free insulated lunch bag from the makers of Zyrtec (thanks Zyrtec people). Anywho, I use it for my lunch, but I have one small suggestion. Next time the Zyrtec people decide what color to use to make their insulated lunch bags, DON'T USE BLACK! It absorbs sunlight (read: heat) and totally defeats the purpose of the insulation. I have to cover it up with newspaper when it's in the backseat of my car, otherwise my cold food turns hot. And gross. Okay, no more UPDATES tonight. Time to work, then long drive home, then SLEEP! Hooray! Later, -T-

Couple quick UPDATES:
- Heard this on WTAM 1100, my local news station: "We could just make up the news, but we'd Rather not." Ha! - Remember the whole thing with the place where I kinda did that thing and how now I can't really talk about the thing I kinda did but not really and now I have to go back there and be really really vague when I talk about it? Well, I can't tell you much, but so far so good. - This is from Aaron Karo, it's good stuff: "You have to love New York. Where else can a beer cost eleven dollars in a bar, a turkey sandwich cost nine dollars in a deli and then a guy on the street tries to sell you a package of 36 AA batteries for a dollar. When I asked him how they could be so cheap, he was like, 'It's wholesale.' Sure it is, buddy." - I'm doing Race for the Cure again this year, it's for a good cause. I did really well last year, but with me not getting nearly enough sleep and all, this year there's a twist. My goal this year is to finish. Alive. Come cheer me on! - I watched the movie Very Bad Things last night as I was cleaning and getting ready for bed. I was under the impression that it was a comedy. Well, it was, kind of, but it was very dark. Seriously, it was strange. I think I bought it for five bucks, so it wasn't a rip off or anything, but if you want to borrow it, be my guest. - I have to wear white scrubs for school. They look ridiculous. Okay, I'm really tired and it's only Monday. Yuck. Only four days to go till the weekend! Later, -T-

Another 100+ hour work/school week is almost over. I'm very sleepy and work is very busy. Not so good.
In other news, there's a bunch of fighter jets and helicopters flying all over the city of Cleveland. It's very spooky. OddTodd says that they're all over NYC too. WTF is going on? Okay, gotta go. Later, -T-

20 hour days = 100 hour weeks.
No sleep makes Todd crazy. Seeing things that aren't there. Nasty Girl has been in my head for two weeks straight. Haven't had REM sleep in over a week. Ran eight flights of stairs during an emergency at work, knee killing me. No sleep makes Todd crazy. No sleep makes Todd Crazy. No sleep... Later, -T-

Remember how I said I saw the President? Well, the best part was the question and answer part. This cute little girl (I dunno, maybe 4 years old) got up and asked this:
"Do you like broccoli?" (Laughter and applause.) THE PRESIDENT: "Do I like broccoli? It's okay. I'm not nearly as turned off by it as my dad is. (Laughter.) If you really want to get into it, I kind of like the top of the broccoli. (Laughter.) I don't like the stalk itself. (Applause.) Not that good." It was so damn funny, he's amazing in person. You could buy three tires and get the fourth tire free, or you could log onto BNR and get a free UPDATE!
Current Music: The washing machine is swishing away in the background. (I'm also trying to find Trick Daddy and Little John doing "Let's Go", it's got Ozzy in the background, check it out.) Today's Random Fact: If you have an unused cell phone you can donate it to Hope Line. HopeLine is a program run by Verizon Wireless that works to curb domestic violence. Go to HopeLine for more details. So, I realize it's been a long time since I last wrote a solid UPDATE. I'm averaging about four hours of sleep a night what with school and work and all, but now with the Labor Day Weekend all up on us, we are really in need of a MASSIVE END OF SUMMER BLOWOUT UPDATE!!! (Hold for applause...) So how was your summer? Can you describe it in 500 words or less? Yeah, me neither. Well, let's get right into it shall we? So I mentioned I haven't been getting a lot of sleep right? Well, Saturday morning when I could've been sleeping, guess what I did? I saw the President! That's right, I saw the POTUS! (The President of the United States for those of you who aren't hip to the acronym.) It was really cool; I took a bunch of pictures. The entire thing was really candid, and he was at his best. Seriously. If he can get that attitude to come across at the debates he'll have this race won solid. What else did I do this summer? Well, I went on vacation with my family to Hocking Hills for a weekend. That was a blast, we saw some spectacular caves and rock formations, and we went on an amazing horseback ride. I've ridden horses before, but this was an all out ride. We went all over the state park, I mean up and down these trails that were steep! At the end they let us run the horses at full speed, the adrenaline rush was crazy. I also went on vacation with Lyndz's family and had a fun boating adventure with them. We went to Cedar Point and got to wait in line for two broken rides (Millennium Force and Top Thrill Dragster) but had a good time nonetheless. We stayed in , Maumee Bay State Park it was really nice there too. There was a sauna in the clubhouse there; I really liked that. I want a sauna in my house, it wouldn't be that hard to build would it? Isn't there a specific kind of wood needed? I like that sauna smell. I also want a urinal in my bathroom. And a library-type study with lots of dark wood shelves and a fireplace when I can smoke cigars and read. Yeah, I think that'd be pretty cool; a sauna, a urinal equipped bathroom, and a study. Okay, moving on... I spent a lot of time at my pool this summer. Having the weekends off was really nice, I tried to get as much sun as possible. I wasn't a big fan of the other people at the pool though. There are a whole group of women who bring their kids there and use the pool as a babysitter while they lay out all day. So annoying. Then there was the big fat hairy guy who lathered himself up in baby oil while he tanned. That in itself wasn't bad, but he kept jumping in the pool! He added a massive film of oil and sweat on the water, so I stayed out of the water while he was there. Lyndz and I made a habit out of getting Mexican food on Sundays. We (and by "we" I really mean "I") especially liked going to Cozumel's and eating outside. (For all those Internet searchers, Cozumel's is Broadview Heights. They have great and inexpensive Mexican food.) I experienced Dos Equis for the first time this summer, and found that it goes very well with everything Mexican. Lyndz liked the margaritas, but she's very picky about the amount of tequila in her drinks. By very picky I mean there's never enough. You'd never know it looking at her, but my girl likes her tequila! Random Summer Memory: One of the Mexican girls at Cozumel's explaining to the me the benefits of using flashcards for memorization. She said that she used them to learn English. Speaking of things Lyndz likes, we visited Cold Stone Creamery (Strongsville) twice this summer. She loves that place. It's really neat how they mix the toppings on the stone, and everyone there is so happy all the time! I like that more then I like the ice cream. She likes the ice cream. I'm pretty sure we saw a Cleveland Browns player the second time we were there too, so that was cool. While on the topic of things we did the girlfriend and I also went to Jerry's Wine Center (Broadview Heights). They have wine tasting events, so we went to one on a Saturday afternoon. It was really nice, the store itself is impressive, and the tasting was really fun. I like trying new wines, and I really like cheese. They had both. So yeah, that was fun too. Moving on to wine and cheese! Lyndz really got me hooked on cheese this summer. This summer we spent one (very fun) evening just snacking on cheese and crackers and drinking a White Bordeaux (Premius 2001.) The wine was so good… But my love of cheese is the big story this year. But back to wine for a moment. A few weeks ago I went to Vintage Ohio with some ladies from work. Ohio produces a lot of really sweet (sugary) wines, and I wasn't fond of those, but there were some good cab savs. I'd like to find a good local wine to drink, but I'm still really partial to Australians. (Hardy's baby, it's all about the Hardy's. Seriously, try the Chardonnay, it rules.) My allergies are kicking my ass this weekend. Medication isn't touching it either. Yuck. Remember when we last met how I was talking about my nervous habits? Well, I play with my watch when I'm nervous too. So if I'm talking to you and playing with my watch, well, there you go. I'm hoping that by posting this stuff I can make an effort to stop! There's something both very nice and very bad about dropping a jar of jelly. It's very nice because the sticky jelly holds most of the broken shards of glass together in a gelatinous ball, but it's also very bad because the sticky jelly holds most of the broken shards of glass together in a gelatinous ball. Cleanup was a bitch. Next time I'm buying the plastic container. I'm really ashamed to say this, but I like The Bitch Song. I think it's by Meredith Brooks. I'll catch myself singing it when it's on the radio like "Wait! What the hell are you doing? Change the channel!" I haven't done it with the windows down yet, but give it time. Another Random Summer Memory: We went to a renaissance fair, it was pretty fun. While there we saw a guy with a ferret. I want a ferret. They're so cool! I don't have the time to care for it though, so maybe later. They need a really big cage too, so maybe in my future house with the study and the urinal and such. Remember the gas station vitamins that we talked about a while back? I still take those every once in a while. They make my urine almost fluorescent. Kinda cool. I didn't see as many movies as I wanted to this summer, but I did see a few. I-Robot was decent, if you could get past the fact that every Will Smith movie is going to show him running with his shirt off. And the shoes thing in the beginning, that really, really, really, bothered me. Dodgeball was funny in a Zoolander way, so I'll buy that on DVD. We saw both of those movies at the drive-in. I bought In America on DVD and was really impressed with that. The little Irish girls were adorable, and the acting was stunning. I didn't see Harold and Kumar go to White Castle, but the previews for that actually looked funny. Did anyone see it? Let me know if it's worth buying on disc. Speaking of buying a DVD, I ALMOST rented a disc last week. Almost. Then logic took over and I bought it. I can't believe I almost broke my streak! It's been years! Another Random Summer Memory: I think the people who design kiddie pools are on LSD. Seriously, look at some of them. They're filled with giant multi-colored mushrooms and frogs and fountains. If that's not an actualized acid trip I don't know what is. So yeah, I've been really tired because of school and work. And when I'm really tired, escalators make me really dizzy. Dizzy enough to fall down them. Sometimes I just have to laugh at myself. School starting has brought a bunch of things to my attention. Mostly the fact that I haven't sat still for 8 hours of class since high school. That's a bit difficult for me because I have NO ATTENTION SPAN! Seriously, everything distracts me. The trees outside, people coming in and out of the classroom door, even just the other people sitting in the classroom. Everything. Then trying to pay attention to the class itself is so damn hard. I hate PowerPoint presentations. People never use it right! They put too much content on each slide, they rely on the mouse click action fall too much, and then they read it to you! I feel like I'm in kindergarten. Post topics on the screen, then discuss. Anything else is just a waste of my time, and if something is a waste of my time, well, I'm not going to be able to pay attention. Especially if I'm tired. Going to school from 7-3:30 then working from 4-midnight tends to do that to you. And let me tell you, there's a fine line between too little coffee (sleeping) and too much coffee (twitching). I'm working on treading that line, but until I find it, I'm erring on the side of too much. Not getting enough sleep wouldn't be a problem if it was only the mental aspect that I had to deal with, because honestly, a positive attitude is making this totally feasible. It's the physical part that sucks. After a few days of no sleep I get chronic achyness and nausea. Then the headaches start, and the only thing that gets rid of that is a solid eight hours of sleep. Yuck. Oh well, it's worth it, and it'll be over soon! Well, I’ve spent way too much time writing this and I kinda want to go outside, so I’m going to sign off. Hopefully I’ll have some time at work to UPDATE a little more often, but with school and work, who knows. Later! -T-
